SEO (search engine optimisation) means making your website easy for Google — and newer AI search tools — to find, understand and recommend. I focus on the practical work that makes a real difference for small businesses, and I’ll always be straight with you about what SEO can and can’t do.
An honest word first
Nobody can guarantee a number-one position on Google — anyone who promises that should be treated with caution. What I can do is remove the problems holding your site back, make each page clearly about what you offer, and help local customers find you. Results build over months, not days.
What’s involved
- Technical SEO — fixing the behind-the-scenes issues that stop Google reading your site: slow pages, broken links, missing sitemaps, duplicate pages and mobile problems.
- On-page SEO — making each page clearly about one topic, with the right page title, description, headings and wording that matches what customers actually search for.
- Local SEO — helping you appear for searches like “near me” and on Google Maps, through your Google Business Profile and consistent business details across the web.
- Schema markup — small pieces of hidden code that tell search engines exactly what your business is, where it is and what you offer. It can help your listing stand out and helps AI tools describe you accurately.
- AI search visibility — tools such as Google’s AI answers, ChatGPT and Perplexity increasingly summarise businesses. Clear, factual pages, FAQs and schema give them accurate information to work with. This is a new and changing area, so I’ll explain what’s realistic.
- Keyword research — finding the words your customers use, so your pages speak their language.
Who it’s for
- Businesses that are hard to find on Google for their own services or area.
- Sites that lost traffic after a redesign or move.
- Local businesses that want more calls from nearby customers.
- Online shops with lots of products that need consistent titles and descriptions.
How it works
- An SEO check of your site, Search Console data and competitors.
- A short, prioritised plan — quick wins first, then longer-term work.
- Fixes and improvements, done for you, with a plain-English note of what changed.
- Monthly progress check using Search Console and Analytics — see Google integrations.

Frequently asked questions
How long does SEO take to work?
Technical fixes can show up within weeks. Ranking for competitive searches usually takes several months of steady work. I’ll give you a realistic picture for your situation.
Can you guarantee first place on Google?
No, and nobody honestly can. Google decides rankings. I focus on the things that are proven to help and report openly on progress.
Will a redesign damage my rankings?
It can if it’s done carelessly. When I rebuild a site I keep existing web addresses where possible and set up redirects (automatic forwarding from old addresses to new ones) for anything that moves.
Do I need a blog for SEO?
Not always, but regular helpful articles give Google more reasons to show your site. I can write them for you as a monthly extra.
