Website Content Management & Updates

A website only works if it stays current. I give you two simple options: update it yourself with confidence, or hand it to me and I’ll keep it fresh for you. Many clients do a bit of both.

What is content management?

Your “content” is everything visitors see: words, photos, prices, opening hours, news and products. A content management system (CMS) — such as WordPress or Shopify — is the admin dashboard where you change all of that without writing code.

Option 1: Do it yourself

Every website I build comes with access to the admin dashboard and a one-hour, one-to-one training session. I’ll show you how to:

change text and swap photos,
add a new page, project or blog post,
update prices, products or opening hours,
check enquiries that come through your forms.

I set up your account so the important design settings are protected, which means you can edit freely without worrying about breaking the layout.

Option 2: Let me do it

Busy running the business? Send me what needs changing by email and I’ll take care of it — from a quick price update to a new page, blog posts or product descriptions. This fits naturally with my content writing service.

Who it’s for

Owners who like to be hands-on and want to make quick changes themselves.
Busy teams that would rather pass updates to someone else.
Businesses with several people who need to edit the site — each person gets their own login with the right level of access.

What’s included

Your own administrator login to the dashboard.
Extra logins (“contributors”) for staff, with permissions set so people only see what they need. The number of extra contributors depends on your care plan.
A one-hour training session, plus a short written guide to refer back to.
Help by email when you get stuck.
Regular software, theme and plugin updates on your care plan, so the site stays secure — see website hosting.

How it works

Training at launch — face to face in Enfield or by video call.
You update what you like, and email me with anything you’d rather I did.
Behind the scenes, I keep the system up to date and backed up on your care plan.

Which package fits?

Dashboard access and one hour of training are included with Static WordPress, Dynamic WordPress and eCommerce Shopify builds. Ongoing maintenance, updates and support come with the optional monthly care plan on each package. See the pricing page for details.
